History

  • History of the Greek Community at CSU

In the fall of 1915, Greek Life began at what was then Colorado Agricultural University. Today, over 1,500 students are strong and vital members of the Greek Life community at Colorado State University. We are proud to have a thriving Greek Life system on campus with 23 nationally recognized fraternities and 14 nationally recognized sororities.

Greek Life offers students a unique opportunity to have a balanced college life with a focus on academic excellence, brotherhood/sisterhood, community service and responsible social interaction. Greek Life allows students to make lasting friendships with individuals with similar ideals and common purposes.

Our office works very closely with all recognized fraternities and sororities to improve their organizations and to help their members become successful students and valuable members of the CSU community. Currently our office employs a Director of Greek Life, an Assistant Director of Greek Life, an Office Administrator, one Graduate Assistant and numerous Undergraduate Student Staff Members.
