Greek Values

  • What are the founding values of the Greek Community?

Your odyssey of involvement at CSU may take you in many different directions. Regardless of your major, career goals or interest, chances are you will find others who share them in a fraternity or sorority. All chapters offer these involvement opportunities as well as a chance to socialize with other students.

    We value good scholarship.

We value making academic success a focus in the Greek Life Community. We value chapters and members who prioritize and celebrate good scholarship while encouraging responsible time management. We value supporting and assisting students who are struggling academically. We value providing a high quality academic environment.

We value being an avenue to create friendships, sisterhood, and brotherhood.

We believe the networks and support systems of friends, which fraternity and sorority life provide, should result in fun and meaningful memories. We believe these friendships and memories will enhance the overall satisfaction of the college experience and deepen our commitment to CSU as alumni.

    We value our supporters.

We value each and every chapter and their contributions as a whole. We value the contributions and advice of our alumni. We value the time and efforts of our advisors and opportunity to take advantage of their knowledge and assistance. We value the trust of our faculty, staff, and administration.

We value the out-of-class learning and personal growth created by our fraternity and sorority leadership opportunities.

We value the many leadership positions, committees, and opportunities in the Greek Community. We value the way our out-of-class learning experiences contribute to our members' personal and professional growth now and in the future.

We value the privilege to self-govern.

We value our self-governance. Self-governance gives us the opportunity to learn responsibility, accountability, and knowledge of self. We value strong governance and judicial bodies that make quality decisions and hold chapters accountable for upholding their founding principles and the mission of the college. We value leaders who lead with integrity and serve as role models of excellence in character to all.

We value being trustworthy citizens who are positive partners with the college and the community.

We value our partnerships with the college and surrounding community. We value our roles as active and contributing leaders. We value being perceived as an asset to these communities because of our commitment to good citizenship.
